Blackpool loanee Graeme Owens is set to depart The Riverside Stadium at the end of the season.

The 20-year-old has started just one game for The Seasiders since his loan move from Middlesbrough back in early January, but has made the decision that he needs to leave the Premiership outfit to further his career.

‘I’ve loved my time at Boro and I am thankful to the coaching staff Dave Parnaby, Malcolm Crosby and Gareth Southgate,’ Owens told skysports.com.

‘It’s been tough having Stewart Downing and Adam Johnson ahead of me in the pecking order, that would be tough for any player as Stewart and Adam are top class players and arguably the best in the country in that position.

‘I am an out and out winger, I love to take people on and create chances, that’s my game.’

It is thought that several Championship clubs are tracking Owens’ movements, but I’d be surprised if the ‘Pool were one of them, given the lack of an impact made by the youngster whilst at Bloomfield Road.
