Ian Holloway has this afternoon been appointed as the new manager of Blackpool. The 46 year old penned a one year deal with a year’s option at Bloomfield Road this morning, becoming the club’s 21st post-war manager.

Talking to the official website, chairman Karl Oyston said ‘We are delighted to be able to welcome a manager of Ian’s calibre to Bloomfield Road. He is a very professional and thorough person who ticked all the boxes and who has an excellent track record, and he is hungry to take the club forward.’

Holloway has previously managed Bristol Rovers, Queens Park Rangers, Plymouth Argyle and Leicester City.

Blackpool Vital would like to welcome Ian to the club and wish him every success at the club.

We will of course have further reaction to this appointment throughout the day.
