The January transfer window has officially closed, but the Seasiders beat the 11pm deadline to sign Belarus striker Sergei Kornilenko on loan until the end of the season from Zenit St. Peterburg.

Vital revealed on Monday afternoon that the 27 year old forward was undergoing a medical at the club, and with just minutes of the transfer window remaining it was announced that the Seasiders had got their man.

It is not yet known whether Kornilenko completes ‘Pool’s wheeling and dealing, but after a hectic and stressful transfer deadline day, every Seasider must be happy with how things have developed; the squad looking much stronger, and Charlie Adam remaining at the club.

We’ll have all the reaction to today’s events on Tuesday, so stay tuned to Vital.
