Seasiders Set For Double Swoop?

Amidst all the speculation over the future of Blackpool captain Charlie Adam, it’s easy to forget that the Seasiders are also looking to strengthen their squad this transfer window.

And it looks like ‘Pool manager Ian Holloway is on the verge of making his first signings this month in the shape of Jeremie Aliadiere and Salaheddine Sbai.

Aliadiere is a free agent after leaving Middlesbrough last summer. The French striker was on trial at West Ham earlier in the season but any potential deal collapsed after the ex Arsenal striker picked up an injury. It is also alleged that the Seasiders came close to signing him last summer but that the move fell through at the eleventh hour.

Aliadiere is your typical Blackpool signing; someone who hasn’t lived up to their potential. A move to Bloomfield Road would represent the player’s last shot at the big time – hopefully Ollie can work his magic.

Salaheddine Sbai meanwhile is a Moroccan left back who plays for French side Nimes.

According to reports, Sbai will either sign a loan deal or a short term contract with the Seasiders with a view to a longer permanent deal.

With Stephen Crainey injured and David Carney currently on international duty with Australia, ‘Pool certainly need a left back and it seems as if Sbai is that man.

So two down, how many more to come? Ollie has spoken of his desire to strengthen his options in attack so can we expect news on that front in the near future? As always, stay tuned to Vital for all the transfer news this month.
