The South Stand Cometh

Blackpool FC President, Valery Belokon, has declared that he, in a joint venture with the Oyston family, is investing significantly in the new South Stand and South West Stand Corner, with the development going ahead immediately.

The proposed increase in seating capacity in the temporary East Stand added to the confirmed 3,500 seats in the South Stand Complex mean that Blackpool will shortly have a stadium capacity of around 14,000.

Of course a lot of Seasiders fans will still take this announcement with a pinch of salt, believing that we have heard similar protestations from the Bloomfield Road hierarchy in recent times.

However if and when the construction does start to take shape then will be the time to believe that the club really is heading in the right direction and is finally planning at the very least for a long stay in the Championship.

The future may be tangerine after all!
