Two Or Three Squires?

If I had the chance to pop down to Squires Gate today, I would do. Why? Well with the Blackpool heroes back in training, they will be accompanied by two (possibly three) new faces?

Who could they be? The World Wide Web has been full with rumours over the past few days – with John Hills amongst others being linked with a move to Bloomfield Road – but what can you tell between fact and fiction?

What we do know is that two new players are training at Squires Gate today, one of which is widely believed to be Hills. The other is somewhat of a mystery, but reports from various sources are pointing at Gillingham captain Michael Flynn being snapped up and it might be that he joins the club soon. Last close season the club enquired about Flynn, but The Gills` asking price was more than we were prepared to pay.

Blackburn left full back Michael Gray is somebody I`d like to see at the ‘Pool, but would his wages be too excessive? If a rumour that Hills is being brought back as cover only are true; could Gray be tempted to ply his trade in The Championship?

On the forum in the past 24 hours, there have been whispers of Simon Grayson signing a Liverpool player for next season. I seriously doubt it will be Robbie Foy, and more likely to be Paul Barratt – a 19 year old winger. The key to this is that Barratt`s situation was to be reviewed in the summer about a possible deal, and many seem to have forgotten this.

Today will see an interesting development in the Wes Hoolahan saga: whether he trains with The Seasiders or not could indicate whether he`ll be a tangerine next season or not.

Hopefully today will be the beginning of the new Bloomfield era, because – let`s be honest, with the lack of publicised transfer activity – it hasn`t yet begun!
