The former Gills captain has penned a 2-year deal with the club and he is reportedly ‘very happy’ with the move.

Flynn joined the seasiders originally on loan in August 2004 from Wigan. ‘Pool reportedly registered an interest in the Gillingham player last season, however the Gills’ valuation of him was a stumbling block and the interest seemed to end there.

However after rejecting a new contract with Gillingham, he has now signed a deal with Blackpool in the quest to consolidate the club as a Championship side for years to come.

The midfielder made 44 league appearances for Gillingham last season in League One, netting 10 goals in the process – and having a penalty saved by Paul Rachubka who he will meet up with again at training! He made a further 4 starts in all cup competitions with another 2 goals coming in the Carling Cup – which is certainly good news with goals last season coming from all corners of the pitch in ‘Pool’s promotion season.

One or two new faces are reportedly joining up with the lads today for training at Squires Gate so it will be interesting to see who those faces are – with one being John Hills according to many ‘Pool fans speculating on various sites.

Only time will tell whether Wes Hoolahan will be training with the team mind you…
