Since signing from Real Sociedad last summer in a £250,000 deal, David Vaughan has established himself on the left hand side of Blackpool’s midfield.

However, new manager Ian Holloway has stated that he is considering playing Vaughan in central midfield next season – a move that would please several fans, who believe that the Welsh international would be more a force there.

Holloway said: ‘I like the look of him in the centre of the park, rather than being stuck out on the left.

‘He’s a great passer and I think it’s vital we get him more involved.

‘When I looked at the squad, Vaughan was one of the players who really excited me,’ added Holloway.

‘He makes things happen and has been brought up to play football the right way at Crewe.’

However, Holloway’s plans may change should the Seasiders manage to complete the signing of Charlie Adam next week.

Ollie has given the Rangers midfielder a Monday deadline to make his mind up on a transfer to Bloomfield Road.
