According to the Gazette, Blackpool are working on a loan deal for Liverpool’s Danny Wilson.

The young Scottish international centre half is available on loan after failing to make an impact on the first team picture so far this season at Anfield, and according to Will Watt at the paper the Seasiders are leading the chase for the player.

The 19 year old left footer was set to join Nottingham Forest on loan earlier this season but that deal collapsed and is definitely dead in the water following the departure of Steve McClaren.

‘Pool boss Ian Holloway has been a long term admirer of Wilson, but just like with Jonjo Shelvey has been forced to wait before getting the green light to make his move.

Ollie is known to be keen to strengthen his central defence options even though Ian Evatt and Craig Cathcart are a relatively established partnership at the back as he feels he has little cover for them; Alex Baptiste is currently first choice right back with the likes of Neal Eardley being out of favour, Chris Basham is available for loan, Matt Hill is a more natural left back and Ash Eastham and Miguel Angel Llera are both out on loan.
