Barry Bannan has extended his loan spell at Blackpool, but only for an initial month.

This is because Aston Villa currently have injury problems in midfield, and so were only prepared to allow the talented midfielder stay at Bloomers for another month with a twenty-four hour recall clause as part of the deal.

However, when and if Villa’s injury problems clear, then Bannan will remain with the Seasiders until the end of the season on a ‘youth loan’.

However, ‘Pool’s hopes of signing the player permanently have been dealt a blow with the news that Bannan has signed a new contract with the Premier League side.
